About Me
I'm Lisa Maria Nordstrom, an AHPRA-registered physiotherapist, originally from Sweden and now based on the beautiful Gold Coast.
With a background in education, I bring a strong focus on communication, understanding and empowering people throughout their rehabilitation journey. I'm passionate about supporting people of all ages, with experience in neurological conditions, rehabilitation, injury recovery and trauma-informed care.
I use a range of evidence-informed approaches tailored to each individual, including Clinical Pilates, Therapeutic Yoga, exercise, dry needling and hydrotherapy. I incorporate mindful body awareness and hands-on techniques to manage pain, support strength, mobility, balance, recovery and overall wellbeing.
I'm particularly passionate about challenging the idea that a diagnosis, injury or physical limitation has to define what someone can and cannot do. I believe there is almost always a way to adapt movement to the individual. Movement does not have to look a certain way — it can be modified, supported and personalised so that people of different abilities can experience the benefits of movement.
Rather than focusing on what you can't do, I like to explore what you can do, how we can adapt it, and what possibilities we can create together into a safe exercise.
I believe physiotherapy is about more than treating an injury or condition — it's about understanding the whole person and creating a safe, supportive environment where each individual feels heard, respected and empowered.
My approach is warm, person-centred and trauma-informed, with care tailored to each person's unique needs, goals and circumstances.
Whether you're navigating a neurological condition, recovering from injury or trauma, or simply looking to improve your movement and quality of life, I'm here to help you move with greater confidence and discover what's possible.
